Better now

Things that cheer me up: a clutch of susan howatch books, grapefruit juice and nantucket nectars (finally in singapore, they remind me of college days, together with fresh samanthas), clear broths and thick congee, phone calls from old friends and flirting with cute men, the green and cream silk comforter, listening to the radio, the smell of fresh sheets, lying in bed with the whole day to look forward to, the transformation from pain to languidness and then back to health, regaining my appetite after being on a liquid diet.

I do love prolific writers so — there’s so much to look forward to — there’s Greene and now Howatch, who has wonderfully spicy and multi-faceted and attractive characters. They also have faith, intelligence, charm and sympathy. Lovely, lovely stuff. I read her books when I need to find my bearings.

Cruising along!

this works. Still have to tinker some more with the codes and do things with images, but I’ve started. Now to get a new digicam, set up a picture archive, play with the stylesheets, and I’ll be cruising along.

It’s odd to be without my appetite, can’t eat anything much as I’m down with gastric flu. Am just sipping fruit drinks and milo and lolling around in bed feeling drowsy and weak.
