The way we weather crisis, take risks, make choices or overcome challenges has been determined, in large part, by a belief system, which includes the people we admire most, whether they are living or dead, fictional or historical. I’ve collected some words of authors special to me. This is the closest I can get to creating a shrine:
Rushdie’s an old favourite, and I love Seamus Heaney too. Timothy Radcliffe is delightful, scholarly and lively when he speaks of Christianity.
Rawls and Kant and Amartya Sen and Edward Said are my heroes.
